Project one: Digital Technologies

For our first project I was asked to select an article from any fashion/design magazine that personally inspires and interests me. I chose an article from Vogue - November 2009 issue.
I chose this article.



I was then asked to reproduce the article accurately, exactly and identically.
I was also asked to individualise the article and make it completely restructured, redesigned and re-styled.
The software I was supposed to use to complete these projects were Adobe Indesign and Adobe Photoshop.


To reproduce my article I scanned in the article and then used the picture from the scan. I then used the type tool to make a box for my writing to go in and to produce the columns. I had some difficulty in making the columns of writing look exactly how they do in the magazine as I couldn't find a tool to do that and make all the lines even. I used Times New Roman for the font as that was the closest one I could find to the original.

To individualise the article I put the photograph on the other side of the page and changed the colour of her clothes. To change the colour I used the lasso tool and cut around each section that I wanted to change the colour of. This created layers and to change the colour I just clicked on each layer that I wanted to change and used the colour tool to change the colours.
